Mahoroba Kyoho Rose 2019
Mahoroba Kyoho Rose 2019
This wine uses Kyoho grapes from old vines in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture, whose last harvest will be in 2019. The yield was reduced, but they managed to leave behind some high-sugar grapes for the last time. This wine is an attractive gem with the sweet aroma of Kyoho grapes and a charming raspberry color. It is named "Mahoroba" after the nickname of the production area, and is an unfiltered, light, cloudy wine.■Tasting Notes The sweet aroma unique to Kyoho grapes is so striking that it makes you think, "Is this sweet?" The bitter taste that lingers on your tongue reminds you of the depth of the trees. The color goes well with berry fruits, and it also brings out the flavor of rich sauces made with fond de veau.
