Rouge no Sasayaki 2021 -Cabernet Franc-

The grape growers are a couple who moved from Yokohama. Cultivation in Azumino is difficult, and there are still only a few Cabernet Franc growers. In 2021, the weather was good and the grapes were of high quality. These are memorable grapes that the seedling owners of Yokohama Vineyard, managed by Yokohama Winery, harvested together with the couple in Azumino.

■Tasting notes: A bright, transparent red color. Moderate astringency and acidity. Scents of cherries, raspberries, and violets, with a smooth mouthfeel. The body is light and elegant. Goes well with sweet onion-based sauce dishes. A Japanese red wine with a gentle taste that can be paired with a wide range of meals without pretense. Cabernet Franc is often blended with other red grape varieties, and is not often sold as a wine on its own, but Hama Wine was fascinated by its cute and fun flavor and decided to commercialize it as a single wine.
