5th Anniversary Amber Dream
5th Anniversary Amber Dream
Steuben grapes harvested in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture in 2020 A small amount of Rosario Rosso was blended and fermented. It was expected to become a red wine, but it turned out to be an amber-colored wine. The sweetness and aroma of the two grapes are in perfect balance. Since it was produced in small quantities, it was aged in French oak barrels for a year, which caused it to turn a brighter amber color. It turned out to be a full-bodied wine with a slight oak aroma.
Takahata Town in Yamagata Prefecture is also known as "Mahoroba no Sato" (Village of Mahoroba). It is also an area where people have lived since the Jomon period. The name "Amber Dreams" was chosen to represent the dreams that ancient people may have had and the amber excavated from the earth. This wine overlaps with Hama Wine's dream of new endeavors, and was made into a memorial wine to commemorate the 5th anniversary of brewing. The label design is also special, depicting the port of Yokohama with passenger ships sailing through it.
■Tasting Notes Amber color like whiskey. Rich, mature flavor. Less astringent, with a deep, concentrated, mature flavor of the grapes' natural sweetness. Recommended for pairing with sea urchin, seafood bouillon, blue cheese, and other well-seasoned dishes. Of course, this is a deep-flavored wine that can be enjoyed on its own.
