Steuben was born in New York and grew up in Tsugaru. This red wine is made from 100% Steuben grapes from Tsugaru Grape Village in Tsuruta Town, Aomori Prefecture, and is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks and then for a year in French oak barrels. Aging in barrels gives it a deep color. The grapes' characteristics of being sweet and low in acidity give the wine a wonderfully complex flavor, suggesting the possibility of a new red wine.

■Tasting Notes Fresh berry fruitiness is enhanced with a rich nuance from the oak barrels. This is a firm wine with supple acidity and tannins. It has a deep flavor that is comparable to Bordeaux red wines and is perfect for punchy meat dishes.
